JOB DESCRIPTION:

The job of the Millwright is to support the repair & overhaul shop’s customer components using various machine tools in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, and detailed process instructions. Design and create tools/fixtures to aid with part manufacturing & repair. Maintain and repair shop equipment on a regular schedule. Able to work with precision measuring tools and ensure they are within calibration due dates.

TASKS/DUTIES:

• Support the Repair and Overhaul Shop on component repairs.
• Develop a maintenance schedule, maintain and repair shop equipment.
• Oversee all shop equipment.
• Efficiently operate manual machines; mill, lathe, surface grinder, honing machine, etc per all company, safety, quality, and production policies.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Set-up & operation of manual machinery in a prototype & production environment.
• Work closely with our internal repair & overhaul department to trouble shoot, modify and repair customer components.
• Able to maintain and repair various shop equipment used in the Repair and Overhaul shop, hydraulic pumps, sandblaster, parts washer, lathe, mill, etc.
• Design and manufacture custom tooling, holding fixtures, & inspection tooling.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum of 8-10 years job shop experience
• Able to operate manual lathe, milling machine and other machinist equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills on equipment issues.
• The ability to create custom tool and fixtures.
• Attention to Details.

ASSETS:

• Previous experience in an aviation setting, with emphasis on landing gear and air cycle machine repairs.
• Experience with setup and operation of a variety of manual machines.
• Experience with basic tool & cutter grinding.
• Welding, Arc, Mig, and Oxy-acetylene.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Technical College diploma or equivalent experience
